Wat  Chanathip Chaloem is located on Sunlakanu kun Road in Tambon Phiman. Formerly, it was called Wat Mambang. This is the rst Buddhist temple in the town of Satun. Built in 1882 , ln fact, most of the people of Satun are Muslim. The temple has served as a centre of spirit of the Buddhists here for more than a century. The Ubosot (ordination hall) which was built in 1930 has distinctive features, unlike an ordination hall in general. Lt is a Thai-styled two-storey building builing. The rst storey is a brick building used as a preaching hall. The second storey is a wooden building for religious by Buddhist monks. The ordination hall has front porch with two side stairways. The posts of the window panels are carved in a traditional ‘ or intertwined design. The temple has been declared an environmental preservation zone by the Environmental and local Art Preservation unit of Satun, the Cultural Centre of Satun Witthaya School. Laem Tanyong po and Hat Sai Yao are on the mouth of Ao Satun. Take Highway 4051 ( the route to the Che Bilang Pier ) for around 8 km, and from a junction toward Ban Tanyong Po, Go on for around 10 km. Laem Tanyong Po is a cape juntting into the Andaman Sea where there is a fishing village. Lts long sandy beach is fringed with coconut trees and fishermen’s houses. The fishermen’s way of life and seafood exposed to dry in the sun along the beach can be seen.
